A Partner to the Trade: Why Designers Work With Creative Window Designs
Every designer knows the feeling. The furniture has arrived, the paint is right, the lighting plan is finally resolved, and the windows are still bare. Window treatments are often the last layer of a project and almost always the one that determines whether a room reads as finished or unfinished. They are also the layer most likely to go wrong.
That is the reason Creative Window Designs exists the way it does. For over 50 years and three generations, our family has built a business around one idea: designers should never have to compromise their vision because of a vendor.
We are an extension of your team, not a supplier
When you bring us into a project, you are not handing off a purchase order. You are adding a partner who handles the parts of window treatments that consume the most time and carry the most risk. Our team performs onsite measures, so measurement accountability does not sit on your shoulders. We coordinate scheduling and installation, manage field issues as they surface, and stay available after the install for service and repair. If something needs to be corrected, we correct it.
Whether you are specifying a single room or managing a full-home installation, the goal is the same. Every detail gets handled with care so you can stay focused on the creative work.
Our workroom is ours
This is the part designers tell us matters most. Creative Window Designs and our parent company, Beach Drapery, operate our own custom drapery workroom in Irvine. We fabricate drapery, Roman shades, valances, cornices, swags, bedding, pillows, and cushions in house. We work with designer fabrics and trims, specialty linings, and custom finishes. Owning the workroom means we control quality, timeline, and revisions directly. There is no third party to chase, no unexplained delay, no ambiguity about who is responsible when a panel needs to be remade. Your specification is executed by people who answer to us.
Access to the lines your projects require
As a Hunter Douglas Gallery store, we carry the full Hunter Douglas line, including trade-only collections such as Alustra, along with the premium displays that let your clients see and operate product in person. The Gallery designation is earned by nomination, not purchased, and it comes with local support of the Hunter Douglas Lifetime Guarantee. As an authorized Kravet dealer, we offer access to Kravet's designer-only textiles, wallcoverings, and furnishings. Through Beach Drapery, we also work with Alta, Conrad, Fabricut, Graber, Hartmann and Forbes, Lutron, Xentric, and Soleffect. One vendor, one point of contact, across drapery, soft treatments, shutters, shades, blinds, hardware, and motorization.
Technical expertise where projects usually stall
Motorization is where many window treatment specifications fall apart. Our team handles PowerView Automation and Lutron integration, including coordination with smart home systems that are already in progress. We also help designers solve for the constraints that come up on nearly every project: harsh western exposure, UV protection for art and textiles, child safety compliance, energy performance, and hard-to-reach openings. Duette Honeycomb Shades, for example, qualify for a federal tax credit of up to $1,200, which can be a meaningful conversation with a client weighing options.
A showroom you can bring clients to
Our showroom sits in the heart of Orange County at Stonemill Design Center. It is set up for selection, with working displays, live motorization demonstrations, and the fabric and hardware libraries your clients need to see before they commit. Bring your client. Let them touch the product. We will handle the education while you steer the design.
The scope to grow with your practice
We serve Southern and Northern California and Arizona, with showrooms in Costa Mesa and Phoenix and our workroom in Irvine. Our work spans single rooms, whole-home installations, model homes and builder packages, commercial interiors, hospitality, and multi-unit projects. Our team is active in ASID, BIA, DMA, the Hunter Douglas Gallery Alliance, NFIB, and SCFCA, and we are proud to hold a five-star rating on Houzz and accreditation with the Better Business Bureau.
Why it works
Design partnerships succeed on trust. Trust is built through accurate measurements, honest timelines, craftsmanship that holds up, and a company that answers the phone when something goes sideways. That is the standard my father set in 1971, and it is the one we hold today. Our clients stay with us for decades because we treat their reputation as carefully as we treat our own. You brought the vision. We will make sure the windows deliver it. That is the Creative Window Designs difference.
